Carto is a subjective cartography of the Saint-Etienne area. It was created for the Village by CA Loire Haute-Loire after winning a call to create a graphic link spanning the 60 metres between their old and new premises. Drawing on cartographic representation codes and a selection of buildings, objects and anecdotes, the fresco narrates part of the area’s story and local innovations.

This project offers two ways of exploration: a visual and intuitive engagement with the mostly abstract forms of the fresco, and an augmented reality experience. As you move around the walls with your smartphone, the shapes rearrange, reveal details and share their stories.

A project Tanguy Troubat in collaboration with Constance Mandaroux.
